These are some of Pieter Hugo's photograph from his 2004 project looking back on the genocide in Rwanda. The first four are pictures of mass grave sites, some of which are latrines bodies were stuffed into. The three after are pictures of bodies which were taken from the mass graves and preserved with lime. The last five are pictures from the genocide site Ntarama Catholic Church, where human bones are mixed with objects left behind in the chaos.
